This assignment is designed to familiarize you with current issues in Canadian business and to develop your research and analytical skills.
Select a business article. Sources: national newspapers, weekly business journals, Canadian Business Magazine or business news internet sites. All articles must be dated later than January 01, 2018 to present day. Seneca’s Newnham Campus Library, local libraries and the internet will have the newspapers and business journals for your research. Look for free national newspaper stands throughout the Newnham Campus.
Report #1 must relate to at least 3 topics covered in chapters 1 & 2
Report #2 must relate to at least 3 topics covered in chapters 4, 5, & 6
Write a report on the article. Each report should have a title The content of the report should be 2 typed pages, double-spaced, 10 or 12 pt. font with 1.25 inch margins and stapled. This means that the total, stapled submission will be 1 + 2 pages = 3 pages. The report must contain the following information:
your name, subject, section, date, the professor’s name, the article title, author of the article, published date and source of the article
A summary of the important facts in the article
An explanation on how the article relates to at least three concepts covered in the text. Include a definition or explanation of the term/concept with the page reference from the textbook for each concept.
Your personal comments or opinions on the topics.
Attach the original article or a photocopy including the publishing date.
You are to select your own articles and must not lend articles to other students. If students submit the same article with similar analysis, the professor will investigate it as a plagiarism issue.

Each report will be given a maximum of 10 marks as shown on the following marking scheme. This mark will be divided by two, to obtain your final grade for each submission.

your ability to write in proper essay form
i.e. grammatically correct sentences, error-free spelling, organization and clarity of thought
Note: Reports submitted with 5 or more spelling will not be marked. If this is the case, you will automatically receive a grade of ZERO. Please use “spellchecker” and proofread to ensure that all words including names and technical terms are spelled correctly.
