Select either two or three artworks that you find interesting, appealing, or provocative (which may include finding them upsetting, as contemporary art opens up a wide range of emotional and sensory experiences for viewers). Write an analysis of these works in which you compare and contrast how they represent time and place. As the exhibition’s framework indicates, time and place are not clear or taken-for-granted concepts in these works, but are ideas that the artworks engage, manipulate, and stretch in order to create certain experiences for viewers and to address sociopolitical realities. How and why do they do so? What do you think these works are attempting to communicate with viewers, or how do they seek to make us see differently?
