The seminars in this unit include workshop components designed to help students formulate their foundational thinking and research on their chosen social movements. The seminar portfolio builds on the workshop activities in these weeks and will help ensure that students are well placed to develop their research proposals and implement their research projects. Students who participate in the workshop activities in seminars will be best placed to complete the portfolio.
The portfolio will consist of responses to four (4) study tasks, which will be posted on the unit’s Moodle page in each of weeks 2, 3, 4 and 5. The seminar portfolios submitted at the end of Week 6 will be expected to:
?include separate responses of 200-250 words for each of the 4 study tasks;
?cite at least one primary or secondary (scholarly) source to support each study task response.
Your Seminar Portfolio will be graded holistically by the extent to which it meets the following criteria:
?Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the topics
?Demonstrated ability to critically reflect on your own thoughts and ideas
?Extent and relevance of research
?Quality of written expression
