This is a journal written by Alma Guillermoprie written in 2007, which includes a collection of essays about countries in the world such as Mexico, Colombia and Cuba that are significant to the United States. In Cuba, Guillermoprie writes about how she waited anxiously for Castro’s departure and his replacement, after returning to the country after many years. In Colombia, Guillermoprie writes about how she spent many years where she experienced a fractured government including the right-wing paramilitaries and the left-wing guerillas.
