I STARTED WRITING THIS-TOPIC ;New York City’s Invisible Population- the Homeless Why am my interesting in this social issue- Not enough attention is given to plight of numerous New Yorkers that call the streets their home; the Big Apple where not everyone gets a bite. The reason for choosing this social issue is to bring attention that homelessness has no language, race or country. Many individuals became homeless after losing their jobs and means of providing a roof over their heads. Homelessness has become such an epidemic families sleeping on the side-walks or on the trains has become the norm. Society is no longer alarmed by countless individuals who don’t have anywhere to call home. Too many times we see the homeless with their hands out stretch and we look the other way. Not for one minute, we think that could be me.
