company or are you interested in starting your own company?
If you have not thought of that yet, now is
a good time…someday, you will graduate and your mom doesn’t want you back in
What should I cover?
Describe your target or ideal organization
What is its mission? What type of
organization would best support that mission?
What characteristics of an organization
would make your ideal organization successful?
The areas that you would want to address are titles of chapters in the
How much should I cover?
You don’t have to address every chapter of
the book….in fact, I don’t want you to.
I would like you to explore the harder
decisions you make regarding your choices for the organizations more deeply
instead of trying to cover EVERYTHING superficially
Which topics should I cover?
Pick the ones that have a strong need for
the organization you’re using
If you are developing an organization for
the US Government, you will likely be focused on a mechanistic, bureaucratic
organization….you don’t have to spend much time on that aspect
However, if you have a startup and decide
on a mechanistic organization, I really want to know why you’re making that choice.
