The focus of the intervention is to provide adequate details on the measures that the government can take in order to counter FGM problem in the country. FGM has been practiced since 184 BC for various reasons. The cultural inclination of the FGM has been the major driving factor in the prevalence of the practice. This means, the measures put in place to address the problem should also put into consideration, the cultural practices of the communities that practice FGM. According to the findings by Hughes (2018), approximately 28% of the girls were subjected to FGM in 2008; although this was a drop from 32% in 2003 (Lazaro, 2004).
