The rationale paper is a 4–5-page expository reflection on the why of your project and what influenced your decisions for each of the four stages and the nine individual steps within the stages of the action research planning process.
Specific questions to address in your rationale are:
Why did you elect to act upon this problem in this particular way? (Why you feel your design is the best way to investigate this problem?)What are the reasons behind the design decisions outlined in your plan? (Describe why you chose the data gathering methods; describe why you will analyze data in the manner you proposed.)What are the anticipated outcomes of this inquiry? What do you expect to find and why? What findings would surprise you, and why?Be sure to include at least two reputable (preferably scholarly) resources to support your rationale for your design decisions. (You may cite your course textbook.)
Quality academic writing begins with an introduction and ends with a conclusion. It is recommended you include these elements in your paper.
