Costume Inspiration images: Compile modern dress images showing all of the elements of each character’s wardrobe. Your images should include photos of people in the city that remind you of the characters. Go to the neighborhoods in the city where the script is set to find real people like the characters in this story. If you go along with a friend in class, you can help each other spot people. (If you pretend to pose for each other, it is an unobtrusive way to take pictures of passers-by.) Real people in the world are the most accurate sources for modern dress; especially for characters who are hard to find in print or online media since their clothes are not always the latest trend. Images of each costume piece you have in mind should be arranged onto a mood board for each character. Please include color ideas as well if your images are not already in the color you are imagining. If you like, include images to set the scene of their environments, to show how their characters’ clothes might fit in with or contrast with the surroundings. Images from style blogs, magazines, or catalogues can also be included to complete their look. Explanation captions: Each mood board should have a short written paragraph to explain why you have chosen these images for the costumes and why you feel they would be right for the characters. The captions should mention the neighborhood where you took your pictures and cite any sources for images found online. 6 Change Sheets: A costume piece list for one costume each for your six chosen characters, using the appropriate scene numbers from your Cross plot to show which scene the costume is for. The list should include everything the actors will wear in that scene, including underwear and jewelry.
