The literature review is a summary of relevant research studies and theoretical discussions from existing sources of literature that are relevant to the research question that students want to propose studying. Pages 29-31 of the course textbook explains in detail what a literature review is and how their contents should be organized. Examples of literature reviews are available on blackboard. It is important to note that literature reviews are not annotated bibliographies. Students who submit annotated bibliographies will not receive credit for this assignment (example of Blackboard). Literature reviews should be a minimum of 7 pages, should include a title page (title page does count toward 7-page limit), and must also include a works cited pages containing a minimum of 10 references (works cited page also counts toward 7 page limit). At least 6 references must be peer reviewed journal articles, and no more than 2 news articles/periodicals may be referenced in this assignment. Literature reviews must be written in APA formatting (APA formatting guidelines are available on Blackboard).
