Overview.
Research is one of the exciting activities that is enjoyed by many people whose interest is to learn new things each and every day. Research using a wide range of search engines to gather enough content from various sites or search tools. Although researching activity may seem enjoyable at many times, it may be challenging, especially to the nursing field when one has insufficient tips on how best to go about it. As a nurse, I enjoy using my free time to conduct intensive research on various issues affecting the healthcare system so as to find out what are the most appropriate and applicable evidence-based interventions to manage multiple health conditions such as stroke, dementia, depression, among other conditions. Based on the dynamics and emerging issues in the healthcare sector, the application of evidence-based practice has been found to be the ultimate solution for nurses. The only challenge many people face more so the nurses are to locate the right evidence-based practice articles that fully address the issues of great concern within the PICOT question. But thanks to the weeks that have provided better approaches and tips that facilitate speedy and accuracy of searches that ensure required articles are gathered for study. Most of the articles I found hardly contained the required content for my PCOT question.
My PICOT question:
In overweight young adults,(P) how will resistance starch (I) compare to ordinary starch (c) influence weight to reduce obesity(O) over a period of eight months(T)?

CINAHL
CINAHL is an SU subscription-only resource that offers full-text access to 336 scholarly journals and indexes over 3,000 journals from the fields of nursing and allied health. Indexed journals do not provide access to full-text. Just because it is indexed in does not mean the Library has full-text access to the journal. SU can always request articles for students via Interlibrary Loan, but the service is not instantaneous.
· Look at the Major Subject Heading in the Full Record
· Use the Limits Feature:
· Example: Publication Type=Systematic Review
· Try the CINAHL Heading search:

Keyword search:
How resistant starch help to reduce obesity
Limits:

CINAHL Heading search:

causes of obesity in young adults

Limits:
2019-2021

332  results were obtained after the search

Only 10 results were generated.
After copy-pasting my PICOT question, five results were generated.

The tool is excellent and highly beneficial as it helped me locate the essential articles for my PICOT question. It has the ability to open new tabs when new search terms are inserted automatically, and this makes it more reliable when it comes to making comparisons on the results generated when using different search terms.

PubMed
PubMed is a free health science citation & abstracts index from the National Center for Biotechnology Information at the U.S. National Library of Medicine.

· Look at MeSH Terms in Full Record
· Use the Limits Feature:

· Look for the open access Free articles!

One thing I liked about this tool is that it has the ability to organize and break down articles as per their relevance. It also provided suggested terms that reduce time on typing the entire word.

Cochrane Library
Cochrane Library provides access to the Cochrane Library of Systematic Reviews. Full text of reviews is subscription only. Index summaries are a public resource. Indexed journals do not provide access to full-text. Just because it is indexed in does not mean the Library has full-text access to the journal. SU can always request articles for students via Interlibrary Loan, but the service is not instantaneous.
· Use the Simple Search and the Advanced Search Features
· Allows you to search with MeSH Terms
· Check out the New Reviews
 Browse reviews by topic
Keyword search:

No limits were given as this limit provided zero results.

MESH search:

With limits of 2018 -2021

With limits between 2019-2021

1043 results were found on trials and 4 reviews

1047 results were found.

Nothing was found.
When limits are used, most of the results generated never met my needs. Nevertheless, the search tool provided a few articles relevant to my subject matter on the management of obesity.
One thing about this tool is that it has the ability to categorize artless according to the level of approval automatically, that trials, reviews, and MESH.

Only one 1results b generated, and it was not relevant to my topic.

This tool is time-consuming and cumbersome since you have to go back to everything to insert new search terms, unlike other tools that automatically open new tabs for new searched terms.

TRIP Database
TRIP is a clinical search engine to locate publicly available clinical evidence.

· Limit to:
· Systematic Reviews
· Guidelines-US

Keyword search:
obesity in young adults and treatment approaches

This is one of the significant search tools that indicated systematic arrangement of the articles based on the key word searched. it is user-friendly, and one can even view guidelines with respect to their country.

SU Library Search
· Library Search is set up just like an EBSCO
· The Library even has a specialized PICOT search setup in Library Search—you must go to Advance search to get to the PICOT option.
Keyword;
Obesity management.

One of the primary and beneficial features of this tool is that it has an option where one can search for a database and sort it with respect to date, relevance, author, or title.
