Active empathetic listening is when the listener is showing genuine interest in what the other party is saying. (Bevan 2020) When you notice someone is using active empathetic listening it means the other person cares about what you have to say and will show interest by body language and engagement in the conversation. People will feel more comfortable sharing information or conversating with you if you show interest or are using active empathetic listening.
